We are excited to announce that Speak First has been acquired by Lepaya, a rapidly expanding Netherlands-based Learning and Development scaleup. They work with enterprises to upskill their workforce by providing Power Skills training – a combination of hard skills and soft skills – enhanced with online and offline training techniques and scalable learning methodologies.
Lepaya recognised the impact we’ve had on our global clients over the last 30+ years of designing and delivering learning solutions, and have acquired the company to continue making innovations in the traditional L&D space.
Both Speak First and Lepaya share the same vision of providing excellent learning solutions and development opportunities to organisations around the world at all stages of a career, from starters to more senior managers. We also both believe that to be future-proof and win in the market, organisations need scalable training methodologies which address the unique set of challenges they face.
This acquisition allows Speak First and Lepaya to work together to maximise the learning impact for our current and prospective clients by adding further scalability to Lepaya’s learning platform, and benefitting from their investments into cutting-edge companies and technologies, such as virtual reality and AI-coaching.
This acquisition highlights the immense scalability and potential for talent transformation. Both Speak First and Lepaya work with organisations with global reach, including Microsoft, L’Oreal, KPMG, ING, Dell and PwC, to build deep cultures of learning and productivity.
Amanda Vickers, CEO of Speak First:“We have over 30 years of experience educating and training senior managers. But we also want to continue to develop ourselves as a company. By joining a high-growth, ambitious player like Lepaya, we can become truly transformational and empower our customers with modern learning technology and methodologies.”
René Janssen, CEO and co-founder of Lepaya:“We are growing fast, and see both organic and inorganic growth as opportunities to transform the way enterprise companies build learning cultures. I am excited to add Speak First to our portfolio, and continue to push the envelope in relevance, quality, context, and technology. With Speak First on board, we not only extend our reach but take the next step in challenging traditional L&D players.”
Lepaya was founded by René Janssen and Peter Kuperus in 2018 with the idea that the right training, at the right time, focussed on the right skills, makes organisations more productive and enables overall business growth. They’re now backed by investors Target Global, Mediahuis Ventures and Tablomondo, raising USD 47 million to date.
